Employment visa for Indonesia

The employment visa is the main category of Indonesian visa for applicants intending to take up paid work in Indonesia for up to 60 days. For more information on the Indonesia visa application for employees, click on our Indonesian Work Permit section or use the link to our free assessment.

Types of tourist visa for Indonesia

The Indonesia visa requirements are waived for foreign tourists from 11 countries, who can visit for up to 30 days. Tourists from many other countries may take advantage of Indonesia’s visa-on-arrival system. They can apply for either a 30-day tourist visa or a seven-day transit visa, when they arrive at the airport/seaport in Indonesia. But the longer, 60-day tourist visa must still be obtained in advance from the Embassy.

Other visas

Other types of Indonesian visa include:
  • An Indonesia business visa, which allows entry for up to 60 days for the purposes of attending a conference or a seminar. A business visa for Indonesia does not permit receiving payments while in Indonesia.
  • A journalist’s visa for Indonesia covers press visits and film/video/photo shoots. Take our free assessment to find out how to qualify for this visa.
  • A visa issued on approval refers to the additional restrictions that Indonesia places on the issuing of business, tourist and cultural visas to the nationals of some countries.
