Federal Skilled Worker Occupations

The Canadian government has introduced a limit on the number of applicants that they will allow Canada immigration under the federal skilled visa route. This cap applies to the 29 occupations listed below, and equates to a 20,000 person quota per year. This limit will be enforced over a twelve month period, so once the work visa limit has been reached applications will be closed until a new twelve month period is reached.

Other specifications of the rules on this particular type of Canada visa are that the rule does not affect those who receive an offer of employment and the cap will  equate to an either/or rule within the 20,000 limit of 1,000 applications being accepted for each of the listed occupations.

If you have paid work experience in one of the qualifying occupations in the list below, or have lived in Canada legally as a temporary worker or international student for at least one year, Canadian immigration authorities are specifically targeting you for a Canadian visas.
